When using on glass stove tops, be careful not to slide the cookware around as it's possible to scratch the surface. Always remove cookware from the stovetop after cooking.
Lodge Enamel on Cast Iron 6-Quart Dutch Oven, Graduated Red is best for youThis 6 Qt enamel Dutch oven can be used for any cooking technique as well as marinating, storing in the refrigerator and freezing. The color porcelain enamel on cast iron can be used on gas, electric, ceramic and induction cooktops, as well as in the oven. When cooking on glass or ceramic cooktops, always lift the cookware to move - never 'slide' your cookware. Not recommended for use on outdoor grills or over open outdoor flames. Lodge Color Porcelain Enamel on Cast Iron cookware is cast from molten iron in individual sand molds. The cast iron piece is hand prepared before several layers of porcelain enamel are applied and baked in very high temperature ovens. The body is cast iron, an excellent material for cookware for its superior heat distribution and heat retention. The bottom, sidewalls and even the lid heat evenly which actually reduces the amount of energy needed for cooking. Two layers of very hard, glossy porcelain enamel are applied over the Cast Iron to eliminate the need to season the cast iron. The porcelain enamel surface is chip resistant and easy to clean. Porcelain enamel is also hygienic as it's non-reactive with food. Oven safe to 400 degrees. Note the black rim on the pot and lid is a matte finish porcelain and not exposed cast iron. Dishwasher safe but hand washing is recommended to preserve the original color appearance
